Andre Villas-Boas' side scored all three goals in the 2-1 victory at White Hart Lane, with Bale setting up Aaron Lennon for the opener before firing one home himself, although he eventually put the ball past his own goalkeeper to hand the Reds a consolation.
The result saw Spurs climb to fifth after Everton and Arsenal had drawn 1-1 in one of the night's other Premier League matches, and Bale was delighted to edge closer towards the top-four.
Bale said: "We are not too far off (where we want to be).
"There were good results elsewhere for us tonight, which was important.
"We have just got to focus on ourselves, focus on game by game, and I think we are improving in every game."
The Welshman had also been booked for 'simulation' following a challenge from Daniel Agger, although he claims he had been brought down by the Reds man.
"I thought I got clipped a little bit," Bale added.
"Sometimes it happens. You have just got to get on with it."
