Strootman has had a flying start to the Eredivisie season, scoring five goals in 14 matches from the middle of the park.

He has also been a subject of interest for several Serie A clubs, with United have been keeping tabs on him since last season.

However, the 22-year-old claims is not rushing out the exit door at the Philips Stadion just yet.

"A move abroad in the winter transfer window is by no means ideal," Strootman said in an interview with NUsport.

"That would only give you two weeks to adapt to your new surroundings. If a club really wants me, they will return in the summer."

He added: "And it's not like I want to leave PSV at all costs in the summer. We will hopefully play in the Champions League again next season.

"Of course, I have ambition and I occasionally discuss certain clubs with my agent Chiel Dekker, but a transfer's not on my mind all the time. I am happy at PSV and want to win the league title here first."

Strootman's agent, Dekker, revealed that his client has had several offers from top European clubs for an off-season move.

"All the top clubs in Europe know about Kevin, but a move to England next summer is his first priority and, yes, Manchester United and other big clubs in Europe have been in touch with me," Dekker told TalkSPORT.
