In extremely wet conditions in Staffordshire it was the Potters who took the lead on the 26th minute, when Peter Crouch headed the ball down in the box, before Adam slotted the ball home.

The home side could have doubled their lead in the 37th minute when Ryan Shawcross produced a strong header from a whipped in corner but it bounced off the underside of the crossbar and clear.

Fulham struggled to create any real chances throughout the first-half, with Dimitar Berbatov coming the closest before being denied by Asmir Begovic in the 44th minute.

The players struggled as the weather worsened in the second-half, before substitute Kenwyne Jones put the ball in the back of the net in injury time only for his effort to be ruled out for offside.

There was no time for Fulham to get something out of the game with the Potters securing another win on home soil to move up to 11th in the table.
