Benitez is unpopular in certain circles of Chelsea supporters after his time as Liverpool manager.
"At the end of season they will be really pleased, I am almost sure," the 52-year-old Spaniard commented.
"I like to do things in the right way for the fans. The fans and manager want to win every game and I'll do my best."
The Champions League-winning manager's tenure starts with a home tie against reigning Premier League champions Manchester City on Sunday and some sections of the supporters have suggested that they will vent their displeasure over his appointment at the match.
"I will not be worried about fans thinking 'what he will do?' I will do my best to win the game," Benitez retorted.
"Competing against a top side like Chelsea like I was [at Liverpool] shows you are a winning manager with a winning mentality.
"I would want to see this kind of manager. Before this game [against City] they will support the manager to make a winning team."
Benitez's Liverpool side formed a fierce rivalry when Jose Mourinho was at the helm at Chelsea, a time during which the two-time La Liga winner antagonised Chelsea fans with some of his comments.
Nevertheless, he was quick to dismiss the claims, saying that "we [Liverpool] were playing against Chelsea in the semi-finals of the Champions League".
"If I am a fan I want to see the manager fighting for my club. I don't see this as a lack of respect for Chelsea's fans, just a manager defending his team."
Benitez also revealed that he has not yet met Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich but that he isn't concerned by being only offered a temporary deal with the London side.
"For me the most important thing is I am here because I want to be here," he continued. "It's a massive club, a club which allows me to fight for trophies.
"I was looking for the right opportunity; I was looking for a top side that can fight for trophies.
"I don't care about the short-term [deal], what I have in my head is to win every game. We have five trophies to fight for. We will see what happens, in seven months we can win some trophies."
The former Valencia boss hinted that John Terry will keep the captaincy but laughed off suggestions that he is only keeping the manager's seat warm for former Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola.
"I have a very good relationship with Guardiola," he added.
"He is a great manager, what will happen in future I don't know.
"When you analyse why go to a top side for seven months - it's because you can win trophies."
"If I do things properly I will be happy with trophies and then we will see.
"I went to the training session today, everything was fine, they worked really well, I didn't see any problems.
The Spaniard noted that despite his poor form, striker Fernando Torres seemed pleased to be able to again work with the manager under which he was most prolific.
"I was talking with him like the other players and his attitude was really good," Benitez concluded.
