Laudrup spent a season as manager of Primera Liga side RCD Mallorca and is all too familiar with the financial struggles of Spanish clubs.

Spain are in a financial crisis and many of the smaller clubs are struggling to pay their players' wages, while many teams are failing to secure sponsorship deals and attendances are at an all time low.

The difference between sponsorship rights in Spain and England is that Spanish teams have to negotiate their own television broadcast deals, whereas English clubs all benefit from the same deal.

"Everyone knows what the situation is there. The financial situation is bad and you can secure good players for a reasonable price," Laudrup told InsideSpanishFootball.

"The Premier League and Liga BBVA are the best competitions in the world, but the decidedly different economies now make a difference. Here in Britain there's a lot of money and in Spain, little."

The Danish legend brought in Michu, Chico Flores and Pablo Hernandez on bargain deals when he took over as the Swans' manager in the summer and has been delighted with their success.
