City trail Manchester United by just two points heading into this weekend's round of fixtures, with the Red Devils making their way to Norwich later in the day.

United came back from two goals down to win 3-2 at Villa Park last time out to maintain pole position.

Taking a leaf out of their neighbours's book, the Citizens recorded a come-from-behind win of their own last Sunday over Tottenham in Eastlands.

Edin Dzeko did his starting aspirations no harm when he came off the bench to net the winner against Spurs after Sergio Aguero levelled matters for Roberto Mancini's side.

James Milner (hamstring) and Joleon Lescott (back) are back in contention for the league champions.

Gael Clichy (back) could also be fit after missing France's midweek international against Italy, with compatriot Samir Nasri having recovered from illness.

Mario Balotelli may feature after being dropped last week, but midfielder Jack Rodwell (hamstring) and Micah Richards (knee) are not yet fit to return.

Villa will be boosted by the return of full-backs Eric Lichaj and Nathan Baker after suspension and injury respectively.

However, Darren Bent, Chris Herd, Richard Dunne, Charles N'Zogbia and Joe Bennett all still remain on the recovery table.
