Dembele: Still on the treatment table

Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas has dashed hopes Mousa Dembele will feature in Saturday's much-anticipated north London derby at Arsenal.

Having already missed Spurs' last eight games due to injury, the midfielder will remain sidelined for the weekend's clash with an ongoing hip problem.

"Dembele does not have a chance, not for this game," Villas-Boas said.

"There is a 50% chance he will be back for the Lazio game.

"I think surgery at the moment is out of the question, hopefully."

Dembele isn't Villas-Boas's only concern, however, with question marks still hanging over hamstring injury trio Jermain Defoe, Kyle Walker and Aaron Lennon.

Lennon, though, looks most likely to feature against the Gunners with the winger having responded well to treatment this week.

"They haven't trained with the team yet. They have had lighter sessions on their own," Villas-Boas added.

"We will have to see today how they return to see if there's any disturbance.

"Lennon had a scan yesterday, and it's fine on his hamstring."

The casualty list at White Hart Lane worringly continues to grow with Scott Parker, Benoit Assou-Ekotto and Younes Kaboul all still out of commission.
