Sir Alex Ferguson believes Manchester United are capable of scoring goals and winning matches with, or without, Robin van Persie.

Having joined United from Arsenal in the off-season, Van Persie took his goal tally to 11 in 14 appearances for his new club with a brace against Braga in midweek.
The 29-year-old striker, who scooped last season's Golden Boot award with 30 goals in the Premier League, shouldered much of the goalscoring duty for the Gunners before his departure.
But with the likes of Wayne Rooney and Javier Hernandez also on the books at Old Trafford and in good form this term, Ferguson insists the Red Devils are not too reliant on Van Persie.
"I don't think it's a problem relying on Robin," said Ferguson, whose side can extend their lead at the top of the table with a win at Aston Villa on Saturday.
"Last year, we lost (the title) on goal difference. I don't expect us to lose on goal difference again."
"Van Persie is experienced. He had eight years at Arsenal and that helps. He has come to us at the right time."
The Scot added: "The way Javier has started this season, I'm certain he'll get to 20 goals plus.
"Wazza will get there too, he'll get 20 goals plus I'm sure.
"It's a healthy combination we've got there."
