Aston Villa have beaten Manchester United once in 33 games - a daunting statistic that will be hanging over the home team at Villa Park on Saturday.

The Red Devils go into the game top of the Premier League table with wins over Chelsea and Arsenal to boost their confidence, while Villa can at least take heart from a battling 1-0 win over Sunderland, a result which sees them unbeaten in three games and leaves them just above the relegation zone.

United's defence has been an area of concern this season and the pace of Gabby Agbonlahor and the power of Christian Benteke could give Sir Alex Ferguson's men some problems.

The home side will be without defender Eric Lichaj who is suspended after accumulating five bookings.

Left-back Joe Bennett is doubtful with a knee injury, while Darren Bent is still out with an ankle problem.

The visiting team will be without Nani, who is out for 10 days with a hamstring strain.

Jonny Evans' fitness has been in doubt, but the defender is expected to make the game.

Shinji Kagawa, Phil Jones and Nemanja Vidic all remain sidelined.
