Pictures taken from the fourth-round tie between the two teams at Stamford Bridge last week appear to show a Blues fan making a monkey gesture. It is believed that United striker Danny Welbeck was the target of the gesture.

A 28-year-old man was taken to a west London police station on Monday by officers investigating the incident. The man was bailed until later in the month.

"He was arrested on suspicion of a racially aggravated Section 4a Public Order Act offence and currently remains in custody. Inquiries continue," the Metropolitan Police statement said in a statement.
