Di Matteo: Keeping it together

Chelsea manager Roberto Di Matteo was surprisingly calm after Saturday's 1-1 draw at Swansea City, despite his side having surrendered top spot.

Pablo Hernandez hit a superb late equaliser to deny the Blues the win after they took the lead in the 61st minute when a Gary Cahill header from a corner was flicked in by Victor Moses.

It has been a roller-coaster week for the west Londoners following their controversial 3-2 defeat at Stamford Bridge to Manchester United last Sunday.

Di Matteo's men managed to exact some revenge when they dumped the new Premier League leaders out the Capital One Cup in midweek following a dramatic 5-4 win.

"Mentally and physically it has been very demanding, playing two games against Manchester United and also the extra-time," Di Matteo said following the weekend's result.

"But the players responded with a lot of commitment today and we nearly won."
