The Baggies have suffered back-to-back defeats after making an impressive start to the Premier League campaign, their latest result a 2-1 reverse at the hands of Newcastle United.

However, Bagies boss Steve Clarke will be able to call on a number of key players, with captain Chris Brunt and defender Billy Jones back in contention following hamstring and knee injuries respectively.

However, striker Shane Long and midfielder Claudio Yacob face late fitness tests having struggled to shrug off respective hamstring problems.

Southampton manager Nigel Adkins has also received some good news on the injury front.

Summer signing Gaston Ramirez could well play a part in this fixture, having recently returned to training following a thigh injury that has kept him on the sidelines for the past five weeks.

Japanese striker Tadanari Lee is also available for selection after making his return from an elbow injury in the 3-0 Capital One Cup defeat to Leeds United in midweek.

Defender Frazer Richardson (groin) and midfielder Jack Cork (knee), though, remain on the treatment table.
