The Swans gave reigning champions Manchester City a real run for the money at the Etihad last weekend, Carlos Tevez's 61st-minute goal the difference.

And they followed up on that encouraging performance by defeating Capital One Cup holders Liverpool 3-1 on Wednesday to book their place in the quarter finals.

Chico Flores, who opened the scoring against the Reds in midweek, picked up a dead leg and will face a late fitness test.

Garry Monk and Alan Tate are both available to deputise if the Spaniard is not passed fit to play.

Captain Ashley Williams is expected to play through the pain barrier despite nursing an ankle problem.

However, Michel Vorm (groin), Neil Taylor (broken ankle) and Kyle Bartley (thigh) remain on the treatment table.

Chelsea hold a one-point lead over the chasing pack after a 3-2 defeat to Manchester United last time ou.

But they made amends somewhat for that defeat by coming out on top against the Red Devils in a nine-goal thriller in the Capital One Cup on Wednesday.

The victory came at a cost, though, with playmaker Juan Mata (hamstring) and defender David Luiz (ankle) both picking up injuries in the memorable clash.

However, Blues boss Roberto Di Matteo is boosted by the return of left-back Ashley Cole from an ankle injury.

Striker Fernando Torres and defender Branislav Ivanovic are back in contention after serving respective bans, but veteran midfielder Frank Lampard (calf) is still out.

Skipper John Terry serves the final game of his four-match suspension.
