An inconsistent Spurs side were knocked out of the Capital One Cup by Norwich on Wednesday night.

The midweek disappointment came just days after a narrow 2-1 win for the capital club over Southampton in their last league encounter.

Boss Andre Villas-Boas will be under intense scrutiny yet again if he fails to secure all three points from this tie.

He must also continue to make do without playmaker Mousa Dembele who continues to struggle with a hip injury.

But striker Emmanuel Adebayor could make a rare start after overcoming a stomach bug that saw him miss the defeat at Carrow Road.

Midfielder Jake Livermore is also unlikely to play any part in the match after he picked up an ankle injury.

The Latics suffered a massive blow to their morale after being dumped out of the League Cup by League Two side Bradford City.

This, after a hard-fought 2-1 win over West Ham at weekend boosted their flagging fortunes.

Boss Roberto Martinez will not have winger Ryo Miyaichi available again as he struggled to recuperate from a groin injury that has kept him sidelined for three matches.

Defender Antolin Alcaraz (groin) and winger Albert Crusat (knee) are the Latics' long-term casualties.

Tottenham are in fourth place with 17 points from nine matches while Wigan, in 15th, have just eight points.
