Both sides have endured a difficult season and currently sit on 24 points, 10 points from safety with just five games left this season, with the Royals bottom due to an inferior goal difference.

Nigel Adkins' team have not won in their last 10 games in all competitions, losing nine of those, but will hope for a win over Rangers to keep their slim hopes of staying in the top-flight alive.

In team news, Adkins will be forced to play a weakened attack with the news that first choice strikers Jimmy Kebe (groin), Hal Robson-Kanu (knee) and Jason Roberts (hip) will all miss this weekend's game.

Harry Redknapp, meanwhile, has seen his side lose four out of their last five since their two straight wins in March, a run that has seen their hopes of avoiding the drop all but extinguished.

To compound matters, the R's will go bottom again if they lose at the Madejski and have numerous first team injuries to contend with, as Shaun Wright-Phillips (ankle), Adel Taarabt (shoulder), Armand Traore (calf), DJ Campbell (metatarsal) and Andros Towsend (hamstring) are all unavailable.

The last time the two sides met, QPR salvaged a 1-1 draw through an equaliser from the now departed Djibril Cisse, the Frenchman cancelling out Kaspars Gorkss first-half opener.
