The Germans have won three straight league matches since the stalemate in the Turkish capital and now occupy the Bundesliga's allocated Europa League place.
However Jens Keller has been dealt a major blow following the injury to star striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar. The Dutchman was stretchered off with a knee problem during their 2-1 win over Borussia Dortmund at the weekend and will miss some crucial fixtures in the coming weeks.
Additionally, both Ibrahim Afellay (thigh) and Kyriakos Papadopoulos will miss the clash through injury, while Die Konigsblauen's scorer from the first leg Jermaine Jones will be unavailable after an accumulation of yellow cards.
Expect Finnish striker Teemu Pukki to deputise in the absence of the prolific Huntelaar with Marco Hoger likely to play behind him in place of Jones.
Galatasaray, meanwhile, will be keen to bounce back from their disappointing 1-0 loss to Genēlerbirligi at the weekend by progressing to the quarter-finals.
Despite the loss, the Istanbul club find themselves at the summit of the Super Lig, four points adrift of bitter rivals Fenerbache in second place and will remain on course for a double if they topple the Germans.
Combative midfielder Felipe Melo will likely regain his place in the side after missing the first-leg through suspension while Didier Drogba is a given to start up front for the Turks after being rested at the weekend.
Sabri Sarioglu, usually preferred to Emmanuel Eboue in European ties, looks set to start as he did in the first-leg, but the defensive-minded Yekta Kurtulus may find himself on the bench as Gala look for that crucial away goal.
