Foster: International turn-around

West Brom goalkeeper Ben Foster could return to the England national team setup after apparently having a change of heart about representing his country.

The 29-year-old, who has just signed a new five-year-contract at the Hawthorns, announced his retirement from international football in 2011, citing injury problems.

But after a solid season so far for the Baggies, recent reports have suggested Foster could make himself available for selection for next month's 2014 World Cup qualifiers against Montenegro and San Marino.

Foster's return, however, could create a headache for England boss Roy Hodgson, who may be forced to choose between him and the talented Jack Butland as back up for number-one Joe Hart.

If he indeed does return to add to his five caps for England, the Baggies stopper will be reunited with goalkeeping coach Dave Watson, whom he worked with during the pair's time at Birmingham City.
