Despite making a sluggish start to his Premier League career with the Blues, the Belgian striker has been a revelation for the Baggies since joining on loan at the beginning of the season.

The 19-year-old has scored 12 goals so far this campaign and Clarke hopes he can retain the former Anderlecht man's services beyond the end of his loan deal, which expires at the end of the season.

"If Chelsea want to leave him out for another season somewhere I think we would have a strong chance of getting him back here, but it is a discussion for the summer," admitted the 49-year-old.

"Chelsea are his parent club, he is their player and they will decide what they want to do first and foremost.

"Then, after that, hopefully we will get a chance to put ourselves in the hat."
