The Argentina international sealed the title last season in dramatic fashion, scoring in injury time on the last day to give City their first league triumph since 1968.
However, after falling well behind the Red Devils in the title race this term it looks unlikely that they will replicate that feat with only eleven games left in the season.
Despite being so far behind, the former Atletico Madrid star is still hopeful they can close the gap on their bitter rivals.
"Can we still win the title? I'd like to believe so," the 24-year-old told Sky Sports.
"We can't give up, even though it looks tough."
City have progressed to the fifth round of the FA Cup and Aguero hopes they can translate their impressive cup form to their remaining League games.
"Let's take it step by step," he added. "Take the FA Cup, each victory means we are a step closer to winning the competition.
"It's about keeping focused and trusting in our game. That applies to all our remaining Premier League games too."
