The Parc des Princes will play host to this latest edition of Le Classique on Wednesday, and the former Chelsea boss has revealed that Beckham will replace the suspended Marco Verratti in central midfield as the Ligue 1 leaders welcome their bitter rivals.
"He will start tomorrow," Ancelotti told reporters. "He will play instead of Verratti. This is an important position on the field, it will help the team in building the game and have good positioning. He can play a whole game."
Although Beckham has grown accustomed to playing in central midfield in the twilight of his career, the defensive role in which the Italian hopes to deploy the 37-year-old has begged questions surrounding the English star's quality on the ball.
But Ancelotti was quick to add that the dead ball specialist will still be an asset at set plays, saying: "Can he still take corners and free-kicks? He has the quality to do so."
