Chelsea needed a replay to dispatch League One side Brentford in the last round, and will be hoping to avoid having to play an extra match again by beating Boro at the first time of asking.

The Blues have lost only one of their last 52 FA Cup ties against teams outside of the top division; a 1-0 defeat to Barnsley in March 2008, and they have the edge in this fixture winning two out of three, including the final in 1997.

Tony Mowbray's Boro face an uphill battle against a team they have failed to score against in nine of their last 11 encounters, however the Teesiders have only lost three of their last 22 matches at home, making for a potentially close encounter between the two teams.

In team news, on-loan midfielder Josh McEachran is ineligible to play for Boro against his parent club, while defenders Justin Hoyte and Stuart Parnaby are unavailable through injury.

Meanwhile, Lukas Jutkiewicz is a doubt, so Curtis Main will be on stand-by to support striker Scott McDonald.

Rafa Benitez looks set to rest a number of regular starters, with the likes of Juan Mata, Frank Lampard and Ashley Cole missing out.

John Terry could feature at the back as he continues his recovery from injury, along with Ryan Bertrand and Cezar Azpilicueta.

Fernando Torres should get the nod ahead of Demba Ba in the lone striking role.
