With Manchester United having gone 15 points clear at the summit after Saturday's 2-0 win against Queens Park Rangers, City went into Sunday's clash with Chelsea aware it was a must-win match.

Roberto Mancini's men, though, did the job and secured a valuable three points with a 2-0 victory over the Blues at the Etihad Stadium.

And with 11 matches left in the 2012/13 campaign, Hart reckons the Citizens still have enough fight left in them to retain their league title.

"Even if there is one game to go and we are 12 points behind, we'll still believe. We've got to," he said. "We've got to keep fighting, you never know. We have just got to keep going.

"It's going to be really hard, we've got a lot to do but we're going to have a damn good go at doing it."

City's shock 3-0 defeat at Southampton some weeks back marked a new low in their lacklustre season, but Hart is confident every player at Eastlands got Mancini's message that below-par performances just won't cut it from now on.

"We have got it, no doubt about it," he added. "We all under-performed against Southampton - that's gone, you can't do anything now, you move on from that. You have got to look forward.

"You can speculate and talk about the past but we have just got to look forward and try to win. The only way is up for us."
