Bornstein, currently plying his trade with Mexican outfit Tigres UANL, was linked with a move to his former club as part of the deal that saw Ben Zemanski move to the Portland Timbers.

But the new Rojiblancos manager was quick to dismiss speculation linking the left-back to his plans ahead of the new MLS season.

"No, no, I didn't ask for another player and I haven't been notified that another player might be coming," Sánchez Solá told MLSsoccer. "I haven't even heard anything about Bornstein."

Chivas USA received allocation money as part of the Zemanski deal, but that couldn't stop more departures heading out of the Home Depot Centre, with Shalrie Josephy and James Riley also traded in the off-season.

Sanchez Sola has admitted that financial problems were the main reasons behind those particular trades, and hopes he doesn't have to see any more of his first team squad leave before the start of the season.

"This team has had a lot of those financial problems in the past," he added. "I hope I can keep the 27 we have now," Sánchez Solá said. "I don't want to lose any more."
