Adebayor: No love for Arsenal

Emmanuel Adebayor clearly still has a bone to pick with Arsenal, with the striker keen for Tottenham to finish above his former side in the Premier League.

Having left the Emirates in 2009, the 28-year-old bounced around between Manchester City and Real Madrid, before his loan stint last term at White Hart Lane became a permanent deal.

The Togo international has hardly shied away from any pre-match talk in the past, and with Spurs set to face the Gunners next weekend hoping to still be four-points above them and in fourth place, nothing much has changed.

"For me, it's a big opportunity to show people I was right to leave Arsenal, which means finishing on top of them," Adebayor told The Sun.

"If that's with Tottenham then it's even better. Everybody knows there is a big rivalry between Arsenal and Tottenham.

"When I was at Arsenal, my job was to score goals for them. Now I'm at Tottenham and I have to help the team finish in the top four.

"We have a big chance this season to finish on top of them and we have to take it."
