The Gunners go into this match having lost in the Champions League 3-1 to Bayern Munich at home earlier in the week, before that losing 1-0 to Blackburn in the FA Cup.
But previous to that, the north London side have shown decent form in the Premier League, beating Sunderland and Stoke while drawing with Liverpool.
Arsene Wenger, whose future at the club was in question this week, sees his side currently in fifth position, 21 points off the summit.
The Gunners will be without defender Bacary Sagna, who picked up a knee injury Bayern on Tuesday, while left back Kieran Gibbs remains sidelined by a thigh injury.
Villa go into Sunday's game having ended a poor run of form, their victory over West Ham United seeing an eight match winless run coming to an end.
Paul Lambert's team remain in relegation trouble, sitting fourth from bottom and just one point above the drop zone.
Gabriel Agbonlahor and Karim El Ahmadi will be available again for the visitors, having sat out the match against the Hammers due to illness.
Winger Charles N'Zogbia is also back, having recovered from a thigh problem suffered in the match against West Ham.
