Madrid head north for their Primera Liga encounter knowing they approach the defining point of their season, with cup competitions remaining the only realistic opportunities to win silverware for Jose Mourinho's men.

Los Blancos twice face bitter rivals Barcelona next week in the Copa Del Rey and La Liga respectively, before heading to Old Trafford for their crunch UEFA Champions League last-16 second leg against Manchester United.

Real boss Jose Mourinho is thus likely to rotate his squad for Saturday's match with the upcoming fixtures in mind.

Deportivo, on the other hand, face a desperate task to salvage their seemingly inevitable relegation this season. The club sit rooted to the bottom of the Primera Liga table, and coach Jose Luis Oltra recently admitted that he does not expect to take much from the game against Los Blancos.

The Turks have lost their last five fixtures in the league and will be hoping for a miracle on Saturday to avoid a likely sixth, while they also boast the worst defensive record in the league conceding 54 goals in the first 24 matches.

On the team news front, Mourinho will welcomes back Alvaro Arbeloa, Luka Modric and Gonzalo Higuain for Madrid after all three players were out serving suspensions.

Sergio Ramos, however, is ruled out after being sent off against Rayo Vallecano a week ago.

Elsewhere, Deportivo will be glad to see centre back Carlos Marchena return from suspension for the encounter with Real Madrid at the Riazor.

Manuel Pablo, Aythami and Laure, however, will sit out the game with suspension, hamstring and groin injuries respectively. Full back Ayoze Diaz Diaz, however, has returned to the fold following recovery from a thigh injury.
