The Brazil international had previously been quoted as being unhappy with life with the Premier League leaders, citing a lack of playing time as his main source of frustration.

But the former Porto man has now come out to quash the circulating rumours, and maintains his determination to win a regular starting spot in Sir Alex Ferguson's line-up.

"[The exit rumours] are not true," Anderson told reporters.

"Everyone knows I'm happy at the club. I've had a lot of injuries but I've never let the smile go from my face.

"I try to help the team all the time. This is me. When I want to leave I will have to talk to the boss first. I don't [want to leave].

"I've had some serious injuries. No player wants to be injured. But now I've changed a little bit. I've trained very hard and am doing my best for the team."

He recently likened his time in Manchester to taking 'two steps forward and [then] three steps back,' but accepts his situation as part and parcel of playing for one of Europe's biggest clubs.

"It's not easy to play for Manchester United," the 24-year-old continued.

"A lot of top players came here and couldn't do it. [Juan Sebastian] Veron - some big players - Kleberson came here and didn't play. I have stayed for six years.

"The only places you could go to from here are Real Madrid and Barcelona. You can't have another choice. The level at Manchester United is so big. You come here and you're definitely going to win titles.

"I came to Manchester United as a Brazilian and I've been here six years. It's not easy to stay here. I love it here, but it's hard. I came here when I was very young. I came from Porto and there were people like Paul Scholes and other big players."
