Carlo Ancelotti confirmed that David Beckham could make his Paris Saint Germain debut against Marseille on Sunday, and hopes the veteran can play until he is 40.

The 37-year-old is one of the most marketable footballers on the planet, and with Les Parisiens looking to establish themselves as a global powerhouse, his arrival was seen by many as more of a publicity driven acquisition than a purely football related one.
But Ancelotti cites Ryan Giggs' astonishing longevity, and his continued importance to Beckham's former club Manchester United, as an example of what the former England captain can offer the Qatari-backed Ligue 1 club as they look to assert their dominance on the world game.
"He's going to play. I don't think he has a problem. I see Giggs who's still playing at 40 [sic] at Manchester United, who are not a small team," the 53-year-old told reporters.
"I had him for six months at Milan. I was surprised. He's a fantastic player and his professionalism is top, top level. He'll bring experience, his quality, he's very serious in training, a very good example of professionalism. He can play as a defensive midfielder. He has a very good quality of pass. He did that last season in Los Angeles."
The former Chelsea boss did, however, dampen expectations somewhat by stating that he is unsure whether Beckham is fit enough to feature for the full 90 minutes, having not played a competitive match since the MLS Cup final on December 1.
He added: "He'll be available. He's going to work for the rest of this week, not because he has a problem, but because he needs to improve his fitness as he was on holiday for a month."
