Myers picked up a right quad strain in SKC's pre-season friendly with the Portland Timbers in early February and hasn't played since.

However, Vermes is confident the 25-year-old will return soon, and might even play in a friendly with North American Soccer League outfit Tampa Bay Rowdies on Saturday.

"It was just a tweak," he told the MLS's official website.

"We start training again tomorrow. We were off today, and he's going to be in full training tomorrow. We'll take it from there."

Vermes added that he believes it is Myers' incredible level of fitness that has helped him recover so quickly.

"He doesn't tend to keep injuries for long, that's for sure," the 46-year-old said. "That fitness helps him come back much quicker."

His apparent return has cast the future of on-trial right-back Mechack Jérôme, who has started Sporting's last three games, in doubt.

Vermes insists a decision is yet to be made by the club's USL Pro affiliate Orlando City over the youngster.

"We've still got some talking to do with Orlando, and then we'll decide on a couple of things going forward. We're just still not sure yet," he said.
