Nesta, who turns 37 next month, joined the Canadian outfit from his beloved AC Milan in 2012 and the Italian is confident his new team have what it takes to be successful this season.
"Maybe this is my last season, and I want to do very good, I want to win with this club, with these guys. And I think we can."
The former Lazio and Milan defender admits he wasn't at his best during the start of his MLS career but believes the hard work he has put in during the off-season will pay dividends when the regular season kicks off on 2 March.
"When you get a little bit older, you need to work more," Nesta admitted.
"Last season, I was two months on the beach, I worked for a week and then I played. It's not possible [to be at your best then]. I need to work hard every day. I feel good and this season, I think I'm going to do better than last year."
When asked if he may consider coaching when he hangs up his boots, Nesta responded: "Maybe ... But first, I'll give myself two years' rest in Miami.
"But there are a lot of good guys, good players here, and I do love giving them some advice."
