The Brazilian has failed to nail down a regular starting role with the Red Devils since joining from Porto in 2007, resulting in his inability to get back into the national team, having last played for the Samba Kings in 2008.

And when asked whether he is keen to move on from the 19-time English champions, Anderson told Globo Esporte: "What can I say? I have three more years of contract, I have tried to leave many times and never succeeded to do so."

When further quizzed about his desire to represent Brazil again, the midfielder admitted it is something he thinks about, but insists his immediate focus is on the Champions League last-16 clash against Real Madrid, and United's Premier League title ambitions.

"The national team is always good but we have to think about the second leg and about the English league," he concluded.

United are currently 12 points clear at the top of the domestic ladder, while they take a precious away goal into their European Cup second-leg tie against the Galacticos at Old Trafford next month following Wednesday's 1-1 draw at the Bernabeu.
