The Citizens' stuttering form of late has seen them record two draws and loss in their last three games - their 3-1 reverse at Southampton last time out prompting speculation that boss Roberto Mancini could be facing the sack.

The Italian has since dismissed these reports but will want to put in a solid showing against their Championship opponents to silence the growing murmurs at the club.

They edged Stoke City 1-0 in the fourth round while Neil Warnock's side defeated Tottenham Hotspur 2-1.

Carlos Tevez is expected to return to City's line up after sitting out against the Saints while Vincent Kompany has recovered from a calf injury.

And while Matija Nastasic and Kolo Toure are both available for selection, Micah Richards is sidelined with a knee injury.

Warnock, meanwhile, has a fully-fit squad to choose from with El-Hadji Diouf hoping to be recalled after starting on the bench for his side's 1-0 loss to Middlesbrough on Tuesday.

He had been in influential figure in ousting Spurs from the competition.

Stephen Warnock and Steve Morison, who joined the club in January, are also free to play.
