The north Londoners face Blackburn Rovers in the FA Cup fifth round this weekend before hosting last season's Champions League runners-up Bayern in the first leg of their last 16 tie at the Emirates on Tuesday.

The Bavarians are currently 15 points clear at the top of the Bundesliga standing ahead of second placed Borussia Dortmund. Jupp Heynckes' men have not lost in their last four since returning from the winter break and will be a stern test for the Gunners to overcome.

But Wenger believes that if his side can come out of the tie victorious, the boost in confidence could propel them to a maiden European championship.

"We have a big game on Tuesday against Bayern. If we get past them, then why should we not go further and win it?" the 63-year old said.

"It looks at the start that (winning) the FA Cup is more reachable than any other competition, but you don't really know how difficult it will be.

"If you compare it to the Premier League certainly, we have more chances to do it because we are too far away in the Premier League."
