FIFA have granted Didier Drogba a provisional licence to play for Galatasaray, despite Shanghai Shenhua claiming he is still under contract.

The former Chelsea striker completed a move to the Turkish giants in January, however his former club Shanghai Shenhua disputed the validity of the transfer, claiming the Ivorian was still contracted to them.
Drogba's representatives were adamant that due to non-payment of wages by the Chinese club, the 34-year-old was entitled to join another team, and the move has now been approved by the governing body.
"The Single Judge of FIFA's Players' Status Committee has authorised Turkish FF to provisionally register Didier Drogba," a statement on FIFA Media's Twitter page read.
"The Drogba decision is without prejudice and pending outcome of decision as to the substance of the contractual dispute with former club."
