Bolaños joined the Goats from Ecuadorian club LDU Quito in 2012 and struggled early on to adapt to the physical nature of the Major League Soccer.
But, under the tutelage of Sola, has shown he is more than capable of being a success in the United States.
"It's a league that is very physical and the players are durable all 90 minutes," Bolaños told the MLS's official website. "That's the perspective I've gained. I've learned that already so it won't be a surprise during matches anymore."
The Ecuadorian currently leads the Rebaño Angelino's pre-season scoring chart with five goals in his last four games, and the midfielder has hailed his coaches confidence in him to support star striker Juan Agudelo up front.
"Ever since I started working with the new coach, he has me up front as an attacking midfielder," Bolaños said.
"That's very important to me. ... We have a more Latin game. That's important here. We've got to work hard and give it our all so everything leads to a championship."
The move to a more advanced position in midfield has done wonders for the former Ecuador U17 international and Solá believes Bolaños' impact has been invaluable
"Bolaños is spectacular," the veteran Mexican coach said. "He's wilder than I am. He plays soccer with intuition. ... He's very quick and has a nose for goals."
