The club's hierarchy have stated that they do not wish to offer the 34-year-old a new deal.

However, the England International hasn't let the uncertainty surrounding his future affect his game as he continues to be in fine form for the Blues, scoring in his last four starts.

Lampard intends to end what could be his last season in west London with a flourish and believes they can still make a success of their campaign despite numerous setbacks.

"At the minute the season hasn't been successful," he told Chelsea TV.

"We should be challenging for titles rather than third or fourth, but we're not. And we've not won some cups, we've been knocked out. We have to grab the fact that there's a lot of games to play and we have to try to win something."

Lampard has once again found himself a regular in midfield and has attributed his rich vein of form to the amount of time he has spent on the pitch in recent weeks.

"It's not rocket science, the more you play you get sharper and you get match fit," he added. You have to have an eye on the squad - it is a long season - so I'm not expecting, or asking, to play every single game.

"But it seems to me recently I've been able to play every three or four days, I've enjoyed it."
