Pochettino has been at the helm for three games since the middle of January, and has had two draws against Everton and Wigan and a loss against the league leaders Manchester United.

The Argentine was desperately close to a win against Roberto Martinez's Latics, but a last minute equaliser from Shaun Maloney denied the Saints all three points.

City, meanwhile, have lost further ground in the title race when they scraped a draw against Liverpool last weekend, and now face a massive nine-point gap to the top of the table.

Roberto Mancini will be ruing missed opportunities with the Citizens only managing draws in their last two matches.

The hosts will look to welcome back Nathaniel Clyne and Luke Shaw who were both recovering from knocks, and should be ready to return to the line-up.

Meanwhile, Gaston Ramirez could also make his return, even if it's only to the substitutes bench.

Guly Do Prado and Josť Fonte are the only long-term injury concern for the Hampshire-based club.

The visitors, however, will be delighted to be able to welcome back the Toure brothers so soon, after Ivory Coast were eliminated from the Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa.

Vincent Kompany has also returned to training, but the weekend's trip might come too soon for the Sky Blues captain. Micah Richards remains the only long-term concern for the defending champions.
