The Villans currently find themselves second-bottom in the standings after failing to win any of their last eight top-flight games, while they most recently conceded a 3-1 lead to draw 3-3 against Everton.

Manager Paul Lambert is, however, unlikely to make changes to the side as they prepare to welcome the mid-table Hammers, with Mark Albrighton, Gary Gardner and Fabian Delph all still out.

Richard Dunne is also unlikely to start while defender Chris Herd is out.

United boss Sam Allardyce has seen his side lose four consecutive games on the road, although they sit 11th in the standings, nine points above the relegation zone and 12 below fourth.

Big Sam has no injury concerns going in to this fixture, with central defenders James Collins and George McCartney still out while Mali's Modibo Maiga has returned from the Africa Cup of Nations but is unlikely to feature.
