Spurs' main forward Jermain Defoe picked up an ankle injury last week in the 1-0 win over West Bromwich Albion, while Emmanuel Adebayor has only just returned from international duties with Togo at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa.
With Spurs failing to pick up additional striking options in the recently closed January transfer window, Dembele is ready to show his versatility with a stint up front.
"Of course, if the manager thinks that is the best option, why not?" the 26-year old said.
"It's obvious that he [Defoe] is a very important player for us, he's scored a lot of important goals for us and has the character as well.
"He's very important in our team so it's not very easy for us right now."
Another player who could possibly be deployed in as a striker is new German international signing Lewis Holtby, someone Dembele could not praise enough.
"In the last two games that he has come in he has done very well. It's good that there options. It helps to make the level higher," he concluded.
