The 23-year-old winger has impressed for Spurs this season, scoring 11 goals in 21 Premier League appearances, while also netting three times for the Dragons during 2014 World Cup qualifying so far.

Bale will once again be expected to attack from the left flank, although Wales manager Chris Coleman has admitted he may consider a striking role for his star player in future.

Coleman has included Ben Davies in his squad after an eye-catching debut campaign for Swansea, and the 19-year-old defender is likely to make only his second start for his country in midweek.

He is set to be partnered in the middle by Swans team-mate Ashley Williams, with Bolton's Sam Ricketts and Adam Matthews of Celtic playing on the flanks.

Experienced defender Emanuel Pogatetz is set to lead his side out at the Liberty Stadium to earn his 53rd international cap.

The 30-year-old, who joined West Ham on loan from Wolfsburg in January until the end of the campaign, will be joined in defence by Gyorgy Garics and Sebastian Prodl, who ply their trade with Bologna and Werder Bremen respectively.

Wales goalkeeper Boaz Myhill will need to be watchful of Stuttgart forward Martin Harnik and Trabzonspor striker Marc Janko, who are expected to lead the line for Marcel Koller's troops.
