The Three Lions have played four World Cup qualifiers and a single friendly in their last five fixtures, winning two, drawing two and losing 4-2 to Sweden in their last match in November of last year.
Jermain Defoe (ankle), Daniel Sturridge (thigh) and Michael Carrick (hip) have all pulled out of the squad with their respective injuries.
Rio Ferdinand, Scott Parker and Gareth Barry have all been passed over for selection and won't be at Wembley on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the Selecao have already qualified for the 2014 World Cup as tournament hosts, but boast an impressive record in their last five nonetheless.
The Canarinho have won four of their last five outings, suffering a 2-1 defeat at bitter rivals Argentina at the end of November last year.
Scolari called up Brazil veterans Ronaldinho and Luis Fabiano, as well as Queens Park Rangers goalkeeper Julio Cesar. Chelsea defender David Luiz will miss out with a calf strain.
It will be a tough task for Roy Hodgson's men, as the last time England won a match against Brazil was in 1990 under Sir Bobby Robson.
