Strachan took over from Craig Levein last month after the latter was relieved of his duties almost four years into a five-and-a-half-year deal.

Levein had a rotten spell at the helm towards the end of his tenure, with the Scots having drawn their first two World Cup qualifying matches against Serbia and Macedonia.

This, before they suffered two away defeats to Wales and Belgium, which left them bottom of Group A with two points from four matches. It's now up to Strachan to turn around their flagging fortunes, with the 55-year-old's first test coming in the form of the Blueshirts.

Tarmo Ruutli's men are 83th in the FIFA world rankings, 14 places behind their midweek opponents, and as desperate to find some consistency.

The Estonians have won just once in their last six matches, and come off a 2-1 defeat to the United Arab Emirates. In team news, the Scots will have to do without the services of Darren Fletcher and Ross McCormack for the home clash.

Veteran midfielder Fletcher has been ruled out for the season due an ongoing bowel condition, while McCormack withdraw because of illness.
