Europe's policing agency revealed this week that over 380 European games are being investigated, including World Cup and European Championship ties, as well as two European Cup encounters.

One of the games relating to Europe's premier club cup competition is now believed to have involved Premier League side Liverpool, although reports suggest that the Anfield outfit are not the ones under investigation.

Rather, it is Debrecen goalkeeper Vukasin Poleksic who is the focus of the claims, having allegedly accepted money to ensure there were more than two goals in the game, although the match had ended 1-0 to the Reds, while there had been seven shots on target.

The keeper did, however, only manage to parry Fernando Torres' shot into the path of Dirk Kuyt, who swept home the winner, while the 30-year-old gloveman has since been banned for two years by UEFA for not reporting an approach from match-fixers, while also failing in his appeal last year.
