Having earned 81 caps for his country, the 34-year-old has not featured on the international scene since last year's European Championship qualifier against Switzerland.
However, Three Lions boss Roy Hodgson opted to leave Ferdinand out of his 23-man squad for Euro 2012 after the racial drama involving Chelsea centre-back John Terry and QPR counterpart Anton Ferdinand, Rio's young brother.
But the veteran centre-back reckons that, provided Hodgson wants him, he will answer his nation's call no problem.
"I'm no different to anyone else - I love playing for England. If I'm not then I'll keep doing what I'm doing for Manchester United," he told £5 magazine in quotes published by BBC Sport.
"I'm not being picked. The manager hasn't picked me. If I got picked I'd pack my bags and go straight there."
