Sullivan confirmed an agreement with the Merseyside club over the England international has been reached, with only personal terms with the former Newcastle front man still to be discussed.

"West Ham have an agreement with Liverpool to sign him at the end of the season, but we have no agreement with the player," Sullivan told MailOnline. "It was his desire to come to West Ham to prove himself to Liverpool and that hasn't changed."

Carroll has struggled for form and game time this season, having only ammassed one goal for the Hammers so far.

Having returned from his most recent injury setback, however, the target man looks set for an extended run at Upton Park as Sam Allardyce hopes to improve his side's goal-scoring form.

Sullivan conceded the player has had some bad luck with injuries, but feels the striker has enough time to still have an impact on the Hammer's Premier League campaign.

He added: "He has had injuries since he came but is back to fitness now and we have 15 games left. We need some goals and some points so let's see."
