The Senegal striker left the Magpies for the Blues at the beginning of the January transfer period, having fired home 29 goals in 54 Premier League appearances for the Tynesiders.
Many of the Toon Army felt aggrieved at Ba's departure, which came when the club were teetering on the verge of the relegation zone, but Azpilicueta expects the forward to stick to his task come kick-off on Saturday.
The defender said: "I don't know how they (Newcastle fans) feel. Demba is a Chelsea player. He's going to do his best for Chelsea.
"It's true that he played very well there so I think they must be disappointed because he's a very good player, but he's going to be focused on the game."
Chelsea will be looking to bounce back from their disappointing draw against Reading in midweek, having let slip a two-goal lead to finish 2-2 at the Madejski Stadium.
