The Reds striker has been in scintillating form of late, with his goal against Arsenal on Wednesday taking his tally to 22 for the season.

With 17 of those strikes coming just in the Premier League, Suarez trails Robin van Persie by a single goal in the race for the top-flight's Golden Boot.

Suarez has courted his fair share of controversy since his move to Anfield from Ajax Amsterdam in January 2011.

He recently copped flak for his decision to celebrate a goal against Mansfield Town in the FA Cup that was awarded, despite the ball clearly coming into contact with his hand before ending up in the back of the net.

Despite facing some difficult moments over the past two years, the 26-year-old hopes to continue be the driving force for Brendan Rodgers' team as they look to re-establish themselves as a force in England, as well as Europe.

"I hope [to be at Liverpool] for a very long time because it's a massive club that kids dream about playing for," Suarez told the club's official website.

"I've been very proud to be at a club like Liverpool and to have made the decision to come here.

"In two years I've lived through some spectacular and very special moments that I will never, ever forget.

"There have been a few difficult times as well, but with the support of my family, the club and the fans, things have gone well for me."

"I do feel at home here. When I'm out and about, all I get is support and encouragement from the local people and that's very important and when I come here to the club I feel like people have known me all my life," he continued.

"I hope to be able to help out the team for as long as I possibly can while trying do something to make the club and the fans very happy."
