After consistent performances for Dynamo in the Major Soccer League since his move in 2006.

The midfielder finally got a call-up to Jurgen Klinsmann's national side for the goalless draw against Canada at Compass Stadium on Tuesday.

Davis was happy with his contribution on the night, and feels he did his chances no harm in his desire to continue representing Team USA.

When quizzed on the possibility of earning a second call-up, the 31-year-old said: "I hope so, that's up for the coaching staff to decide. I know I'm a piece of that puzzle, but where I fit, I'm not quite sure yet.

"I think it's going to take a little bit more time to get integrated with everybody and get a few more opportunities to see how that goes. I think that other opportunity will be there down the road."

US coach Klinsmann felt Davis had a good game, and with a little more composure, could be an important outlet for the future.

"I think he did well," the German tactician said after the game. "He tried to take the game upon him and, obviously, when you're playing in your home stadium, you want to do especially well.

"So in the beginning, it was a little bit hectic because he wanted to do everything right, but then he got into his flow. I think overall, he fit fine and, with a little bit of luck, he scores that goal."
