Stoke will hope to end a three-game losing streak in the Premier League as they host 19th-placed Wigan at the Brittania Stadium on Tuesday night.

The Potters boast one of the meanest defences in the league with only Manchester City, Chelsea and Everton conceding fewer goals so far this season.

And in Asmir Begovic, the Staffordshire outfit can lay claim to possessing arguably the best goalkeeper currently plying his trade on British shores. The 25-year-old is set to return to the side after being rested in the FA Cup.

Long-term absentees Rory Delap (hernia) and Marc Wilson (ankle) remain unavailable, while Geoff Cameron is a doubt after picking up a hamstring strain.

Glenn Whelan is, however, free to take his place in the heart of midfield after the Irishman escaped punishment for his two-footed lunge on Javi Garcia at the weekend.

Wigan have a rather lengthy injury list that includes first-team players Ben Watson (broken leg) and Ivan Ramis (ligament), but new signings defender Roger Espinoza and on-loan Manchester United striker Angelo Henriquez could both feature.

Roberto Martinez's men are languishing in the relegation zone and will be hoping to continue their positive recent form against Stoke, a run that sees the Latics unbeaten in their last seven encounters in all competitions with Tony Pulis' side.

However, Wigan have taken just a solitary point from their three league matches in 2013, but a win in midweek would take them clear of danger, at least for the time being.
