The League One side were by far the better in the opening 45 minutes and led going into the break when Harry Forrester's curling effort was only parried by Ross Turnbull, and Marcello Trotta was on hand to turn home the rebound.

Oscar then levelled with a fine solo effort on 55 minutes, the Brazilian controlling well on the edge of the box before wriggling away from three defenders and steering a shot into top corner.

On 73 minutes the underdogs were back in front, Tom Adeyemi racing in behind the sleeping Blues defence and going down under the challenge of Turnbull to win a penalty, with Forrester stepping up to take and confidently converting in front of the home fans.

Ryan Bertrand headed over from close range before Torres forced the replay after the Spaniard struck a curling shot into the top corner with an instinctive finish from the edge of the area.

The Bees will take heart from their brave display but may feel like they have missed their chance to cause a huge cup upset.

Rafael benitez's men will now fancy their chances back at Stamford Bridge when they meet for the replay.
